Finals: Rafael Nadal (1) def Novak Djokovic (3) 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2

Well, after significant Rain delays Rafa has won in 4 sets.
Rafael has downplayed any talk about him being the best player in the world. For both Federer and Nadal it is staying injury free. We hope the best for all the Professional Tennis Players. Thanks for viewing.

Nadal or Djokovic?

Well I have to eat my hat. Federer was beat by Djokovic. Djokovic played very well. The score was close-5-7, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5. Djokovic played better that day. I have said it before and will say it again the best 1000 players and can beat the no. 1 if they are having a bad day. In this case, it was a close contest. Fed was not having a bad day but did not play his absolute best. Congratulations to Mr. Djokovic.

On the Womans side. Ms. Kim Clijsters wins easily. Our own Venus was good. Venus hits the ball very hard but Kim really likes the hard hit balls. Some players feed on this and the result is history for a 2.2 million dollar pay check for Ms.Clijsters against Vera Zvonareva. Nice.

Today Rafa will play Djokovic. Rafael Nadal has won twice as many times against Novak Djokovic. Novak has not beat Mr. Federer that often. It ought to be a really good match. All the best to all the players. All in all a really good Open.

US Open Coming up!

Former champions Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters lead their respective fields in the current US Open tennis odds according to the British betting bookmaker Ladbrokes.com. Serena is not playing due to an injury on her foot.

Roger Federer: The Swiss won his first title in seven months on Sunday. Federer actually looked pretty darn good last week in Cincinnati, where, albeit, he had only played three full matches. But in those matches he looked sharp, moved well and played the kind of tennis that has won him US Opens in the past. Roddick, Fish, Rafa, Solderling, Nalbandian, and Tomas Berdych could all come out to win. Federer is fit. The 5 set format and the pressure is grueling. We will watch closely.

The 5-time champion Federer, who lost in the final last year to Juan Martin Del Potro, is once again the men’s favorite at 9/4. World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is next at 11/4. Nadal has never reached the US Open finals.

At No. 3 in the US Open odds is 2008 finalist Andy Murray at 3/1. Novak Djokovic is the fourth choice at 12/1 while former champion Andy Roddick, Robin Soderling and Tomas Berdych are all tied at 16/1.

Defending champion Clijsters is on top for the women at 10/3. The 2006 winner, Maria Sharapova, is the second pick at 7/2. Top seed and 2009 finalist Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka are tied for third at 7/1.

Two-time champion Venus Williams is next at 12/1 followed by 2004 winner Svetlana Kuznetsova (14/1) and then a tie between Elena Dementieva and Vera Zvonareva at 20/1. My prediction is Venus could really come out gunning for the title. Do not count her out in any way.

The US Open main draw begins on Monday, August 30. Both draws will be released on Thursday.

Womens French Open Result. Men's Final Tomorrow. Camp starts Monday

Francesca Schiavone ranked 17th 30 years old from Italy is the French open winner. She has really worked for this championship. It is a long way baby. Mary Pierce is giving out the trophies. Sam Stosur ranked No. 7 is runner up from Britain. She had a great tournament beating all the No. 1 player only to lose to Schiavone. Francesca won a great Open. Did really well in the tiebreaker. She is the first Italian from Italy to win a Grand Slam. Really Impressive! Congratulations to Francesca!

Tomorrow Rafael Nadal No. 2 will face Thomas Soldering No. 5. Rafa is my favorite on the clay but Mr. Soldering has had a great tournament. His match against Federer was awesome. It came down to one point in the set. Federer won the first set and lost the second set. It was 5-5 in the third set and then a delay. Federer did not look great when he came back. Soldering on the other hand was calm cool and focused. The point it came down to was when Soldering put a shot away on any other player. But Fed got the shot right next to the Grand stands in the back in air on a sort of jumping overhead that curved over the net to Soldering. Soldering got said shot and returned it for a winner. So the verdict Soldering is playing a very focused tournament but we will see what kind of magic Rafa has in the finals.

On a completely different note Our Kids Tennis camp is starting on Monday June 7th, 2010 in Atlantis at Kintz Park. We begin camp at 8;30am. If you have any questions, please call 561-588-4557 for more info. Hope to see you there. We will have camp through out the summer! Thanks for reading Coach Anderson

Finals Girls and Guys Sony Ericson Open 2010

Hey Folks,

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- Serena Williams put a hand to her mouth and shouted from her front-row seat, like any other fan hoping to see a better match.

Or at least see Venus Williams win a point. Ms. Clijsters likes pace and her game was on! Our own Ms. Williams was not up to her usual game.

Kim Clijsters claimed another trophy in her career comeback Saturday by beating the older Williams 6-2, 6-1 in the final of the Sony Ericsson Open.Better Luck next time to Ms. Williams!

On the Mens side, Andy Roddick's softest shots made the biggest impact Sunday. He kept Tomas Berdych out of rhythm by hitting delicate backhands, loopy forehands and changeup first serves. The smarter player always wins, given equal technical ability. Not that Tomas is dumb, but when our media talks about out playing an opponent this (the ability to change the game style to do what it takes to win) is what we are talking about. Good Job Mr. Roddick!

There was no doubt about the final result: Roddick beat Berdych 7-5, 6-4 to win the Sony Ericsson Open.

"He works as hard or harder than anybody else on this tour," Stefanki (Roddicks' present Coach) said. "He could be similar to Andre Agassi, where his best years are from 27 on." We would love to see this! Keep up the good work!

Sony Ericson Open 2nd and 3rd rounds!

The Sony Erricson Open in Key Biscayne, FL (Miami) is going on right now. It is called the 5th Grand Slam because the event has the draw of the others and the Prize money. $9,000,000.00 in Prize Money. The winner on both the mens and womens side take home over $600,000.00. Over $190,000 winning the doubles. Equal money has been allocated for both the men's and women's sides in doubles and singles. Started in 1985 in Delray Beach and now in Miami, FL.

Our own Venus Williams has won the 4th round against Roberta Vinci 6-1, 6-4. She plays D. Hantuchova ranked 19th in the world next. It ought to be a good match. No. 1 Svetlana KUZNETSOVA, is playing against M. Bartoli ranked 13 in the next round and ought to be a good match also. Either could win.

On the Mens Side, R.Nadal [ 4 ] is playing D.Nalbandian is down 4-5 at this moment, our own Andy Roddick is playing S. Stakhovsky, our own Mardy Fish is playing F.Lopez [ ranked 29 ] today. they ought to be good matches of interest to us locals. Mardy is playing well beating out Andy Murray in the second round.

Andy Roddick and Dwayne Wade Squared off on the courts. Basketball and Tennis. Andy blew Mr. Wade away on the tennis court but held his own on the basketball court. The NBA all star leaped ahead of Mr. Roddick on the basketball court in the end. Fun was had by all!

Current Tournaments in South Florida and our season here in Palm Beach, FL

Hey Folks,

Now the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships are going on. Results are posted on http://yellowtennisball.com/online/. It looks like the Bryan Brothers will be playing Leos Freidl and David Skotch at 5:30 pm today. Also James Blake is playing doubles today. Doubles is facinating due to the strategy that is involved. It is always great to see the Americans The Bryan Brothers play as they have been the best doubles players in the world.

Coming up in March in Key Biscayne is The Sony Erricson Open-March 22-April 4th 2010. Federer is scheduled to play on the 27th of March. It is called the 5th Major in the World. Of course the 4 others are The US Open in NY, Wimbledon in England, The French Open in France, and The Australian in Australia that was just played. Hope to be there and watch some great tennis.

Finally on a local note, my team LWC School, played their first match in Boca Raton, FL. We did well considering a portion of our team has just picked up tennis. Most Players spend their lives playing tennis. I started playing when I was 4 years old.
