Hey Folks,
KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. -- Serena Williams put a hand to her mouth and shouted from her front-row seat, like any other fan hoping to see a better match.
Or at least see Venus Williams win a point. Ms. Clijsters likes pace and her game was on! Our own Ms. Williams was not up to her usual game.
Kim Clijsters claimed another trophy in her career comeback Saturday by beating the older Williams 6-2, 6-1 in the final of the Sony Ericsson Open.Better Luck next time to Ms. Williams!
On the Mens side, Andy Roddick's softest shots made the biggest impact Sunday. He kept Tomas Berdych out of rhythm by hitting delicate backhands, loopy forehands and changeup first serves. The smarter player always wins, given equal technical ability. Not that Tomas is dumb, but when our media talks about out playing an opponent this (the ability to change the game style to do what it takes to win) is what we are talking about. Good Job Mr. Roddick!
There was no doubt about the final result: Roddick beat Berdych 7-5, 6-4 to win the Sony Ericsson Open.
"He works as hard or harder than anybody else on this tour," Stefanki (Roddicks' present Coach) said. "He could be similar to Andre Agassi, where his best years are from 27 on." We would love to see this! Keep up the good work!
