Francesca Schiavone ranked 17th 30 years old from Italy is the French open winner. She has really worked for this championship. It is a long way baby. Mary Pierce is giving out the trophies. Sam Stosur ranked No. 7 is runner up from Britain. She had a great tournament beating all the No. 1 player only to lose to Schiavone. Francesca won a great Open. Did really well in the tiebreaker. She is the first Italian from Italy to win a Grand Slam. Really Impressive! Congratulations to Francesca!
Tomorrow Rafael Nadal No. 2 will face Thomas Soldering No. 5. Rafa is my favorite on the clay but Mr. Soldering has had a great tournament. His match against Federer was awesome. It came down to one point in the set. Federer won the first set and lost the second set. It was 5-5 in the third set and then a delay. Federer did not look great when he came back. Soldering on the other hand was calm cool and focused. The point it came down to was when Soldering put a shot away on any other player. But Fed got the shot right next to the Grand stands in the back in air on a sort of jumping overhead that curved over the net to Soldering. Soldering got said shot and returned it for a winner. So the verdict Soldering is playing a very focused tournament but we will see what kind of magic Rafa has in the finals.
