Wimbledon Quarters: Rafa Out, Maria Out, Fed to Play Wawrinka

Hello Folks. Another Great Wimbledon July 2014! Take a look at this nineteen year old named  Nick Kyrgios (Australian) hitting this amazing shot and then went on to win against Rafael Nadal to make the quarterfinals.

Roger Federer will play Stan Wawrinka  in the  Quarterfinals. Stan will need all he has as Roger is playing amazingly well. It is great to see the level being played by all the players!

Roger beat Tommy Robredo in straight sets: 6-1, 6-4, 6-4. Fed ought to be fresh for Wawrinka. It should be a great Match.

Maria Sharapova

On the Womans' side, Maria Yuryevna Sharapova was beat by Angelique Kerber in 3 sets 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-4. It was a great match and Sharapova proved she is a fighter. Although she was a bit streaky. Previous matches she looked more composed. As we have seen throughout the years at these majors the pressure gets more intense as they climb the ladder to the finals. Kerber, German,  has played Eugenie Bouchard, a rising Canadian.

Eugenie Bouchard

Eugenie Bouchard has won 6-3 6-4  and will face Simona Halep in the Semi Finals.

Simona Halep

My prediction is Eugenie will win in the semis as she has been a force to be reckoned with. As we have seen the tournament has been filled with upsets and surprises.

In Doubles, The Bryan Brothers are en route to their 16th Grand Slam when they win at Wimbledon. They are playing right now in England against Julian Knowle (AUT) [9] Marcelo Melo (BRA) [9]. They ought to win easily given their momentum to reach the semis. Good luck guys!

On the womens side it has been the Williams sisters who have been a force to deal with but Looks like this year they will not be. We will see who will reign in doubles this year. Andrea Petkovic (GER) / Magdalena Rybarikova (SVK) defeats Julia Goerges (GER) [10] / Anna-Lena Groenefeld (GER) [10]
Andrea and Magdalena of Germany and Slovakia won 6-1 7-6(6) to get to the semis.

Thanks for reading and watching, Great tennis! Coach Anderson

Day 4 French Open williams Sisters Out! Ouch....

GARBINE MUGURUZA DEF. SERENA WILLIAMS AT THE FRENCH OPEN 6-2, 6-2. She did this in a Little over one hour! Pretty amazing for a kid of 20 whose lifetime money earnings in tennis is just $800,000 and her ranking is 35. This is a quite a boost for the Young Spaniard Woman. They are competing for over 2 million in prize money for the French Open. She started her career in 2012. She will be one to watch. Here is a pic:

Bryan Brothers Do a Family Clinic at The Delray Beach Open

Hey Folks, Blogging from Delray Beach, FL. Yesterday at The Delray Beach Tennis Center.
Courtesy of Sports Writers Of America

The Bryan Brothers, Vince Spadea did a really fun Clinic for some kids and included the family. They played two 14 year old girls who attend and play for a great local school American Heritage. They even got Michaela their 3 year old  involved .  Calling out different positions. Having long rallies. 20 ball rallies were not uncommon. Great volley's, overheads, serve and volley, great commentary from Vince and The Bryan Brothers,  and above all dramatic line calls.

Here is a video of one such moment. Even the three year old, Michaela-Bob and Mike Bryan Got involved, take a look!

Michaela and the Brothers ran off the court together. They start early.  Cool.

Thanks for watching. Upcoming "A day in the Life of A Local Professional Tournament!" Awesome. Coach Anderson 2.19.2014

US Open: Day 9 and 10. Murray Looking Good but Tough field. Road to the Quarterfinals and Semi's........

Murray Facing off to Istomin

Andy Murray Britain won in 4 sets against Denis Istomin from Uzbekistan. Denis looked pretty good in all the sets. Andy bested him with his physicality. Andy was in better shape. His shot selection was better and Andy raised his game when needed. Andy Murray plays with a Head YOUTEK IG Radical Pro. Have not played with it but it certainly looks like he is comfortable with his racquet. Switzerland’s Stanislas Wawrinka, will play Andy in the Quarter Finals. Could be a great match depending on how each are playing that day. Fed is out. Rafa looks really good as does Djokovich. We will see who survives!
Murray after Gruelling point against Istomin

Andy Murray is coached by Ivan Lendl. Lendl has many similarities in his quest for tennis greatness. Lendl has really managed to turn Murray around and put him in the top tier of tennis. Murray can now compete with any of the players in Men's ATP. I wish him luck in this 20-13 US Open Tennis Championships in Flushing Meadows. The Men and Women are each going for singles prize money of 2.6 million each. Pretty good pay check for 2 weeks work.

On the Doubles side Bryan Brothers are dukeing it out for $460,000 dollars. There has not been a team in Men's Doubles that seems to be able to break this Streak. They,  Bob and Mike, are going to cement their dynasty in Mens Doubles with 15 majors to their names.  Go USA. On the Womens Doubles side it is anyones' guess but would love to see the Italians do it. Interesting to see the Chinese moving up the ladder in Womens' Doubles. We will keep a close eye on those Chinese.
Camila Giorgi (Ita)

Pannetta (Ita)

The Women are pretty interesting. The Italians are doing quite well in this years US Open. 2 Rounds in the draw were all Italian Women. Camila Giorgi (ITA) played Roberta Vinci (ITA) [10]. Camila won and just played Flavia Pennetta (ITA). Flavia won 6-4, 6-1. Must be interesting for these great woman to play each other in such a diverse tournament. Who could have guessed. Flavia best ranking for Singles is 10 and her best for Doubles is No. 1. . It will be interesting to see if this 31 year old can hold her own. I know her country women will be cheering her on. Maria Sharapova was not in the Tourney due to her Shoulder being injured. Serena looks strong this Tournament. Hope the best for our Local Palm Beach, Florida resident. Wind has been a factor here in Flushing Meadows New York. Hope it does not get the best of the players. Daniela Hantuchova (SVK) vs.  Victoria Azarenka (BLR) [2] will play each other in the coming hours. It will probably be a tough match for both. Will see who survives and goes into the Semi Finals.

Andy Murray Wins!

Novak said, "You absolutely deserve this win". " I congratulate Him". This was a big surprise. Murray wins in Straight Sets. It happened on 7.7.2013. 77 years before England had won the finals of Wimbledon. England had played for the Championship in Singles (Womens) 1977. A lot of 7's.   We all know when you have to play 5 sets as Djokovic had against Del Porto, it takes a lot out of you. Novak played well. Murray played better.  This was a great match even if it looked a bit one sided.

6-4, 7-5, 6-4

6-4, 7-5, 6-4 win for Murray was obtained with determination and focus. The heat at 80 was one of the hottest days at Wimbledon. They started the match with a 20 ball rally. Neat in a game that each point is over typically in 3 shots. Murray served well. His footing was terrific. His execution was almost flawless. The Joker made mistakes. Mr. Djokovics volley was not as good as I remember, his drop shots were good but Murray was everywhere. His, Novak,  footing failed him on a couple of instances. He was injured a bit when he fell. His wrist looked like it got jammed. Novak could not come up with what was needed to beat the force of Murray.  Andy took home 2.4 million dollars for his effort and dedication. He, Mr. Murray, definately has come closer until the very day, this day,  he overtook Mr. Djokovic.   A great match. A Great Tournament. Thanks for reading, Coach Anderson

Bryan Brothers Take it! Bartoli Wins Wimbledon-Murray versus Djokovic

Holding the Crown Marion Bartoli

Marion Bartoli of France holds her trophy, the Venus Rosewater Dish, after defeating Sabine Lisicki of Germany in their women's singles final tennis match at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, in London July 6, 2013. She lost just five games to Sabine Lisicki, conqueror of Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska, in a one-hour and 21-minute final. When it was over, Bartoli still didn't  believe it. Winning  6-1, 6-4 it was not much of a contest after seeing Lisickis' wins earlier in the Tournament. Lisicki had a definite case of the nerves and Bartoli came to play. Nice job, ladies. A Wimbledon to remember.
Astonished!

On the Road to Happy Destiny

Entering the Field of Battle

Bryan Brothers USA Win

Their 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 win over Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo wrapped up the Bryan Slam, making the 35-year-old identical twins from California the first men's doubles team in the history of Open-era tennis to hold all four major titles at the same time. The Bryan Brothers have to win the US Open to make the Calendar Slam. God Bless them. 14 Majors under their belt.

If they win the U.S. Open in September, they'll join Ken McGregor and Frank Sedgman as the second men's team to complete a calendar Grand Slam. The Aussie duo did it in 1951, 17 years before the Open era began, and ended up winning seven titles in a row before the streak was snapped at the 1952 U.S. Open. The Beginning of the match was a bit uneasy as Mike whiffed an easy put away at net but they got back in it and won.  What a great birthday present for me. Thanks. Congratulations Guys!

Looking Pumped!

Wimbledon Day 7- Serena Upset, and Wimblegeddon

Sabine Lisicki def. [1] Serena Williams 6-2, 1-6, 6-4 for another unusual upset in this years Wimbledon. Lisicki is German and played very well. Her foot work looked unusually good. Hope she will continue to amaze. Federer, Rafa, Sharapova, and Victoria Azarenka are all top seeds, like Serena, and out of the tournament.  Serena had won 34 straight matches before this loss. The fans and Pros are calling this year Wimblegeddon.  Now things are heating up.  Who knows what may happen next!

Lukasz Kubot of Poland
Jerzy Janowicz of Poland

Djokovich, Murray, Del Porto, two Polish guys-L.Kubot (POL)  and J.Janowicz (POL) who will play each other and others are now getting ready for Day 8 in England at Wimbledon. Sloane Stephens (USA) Wimbledon Still Standing

On the Mens Doubles The Bryan Brothers won in straight sets. Although close, 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 against  T.Huey (PHI) [16]   D.Inglot (GBR) [16]. They played well. Going for their (the Bryan Brothers) 14th major. Go USA.

All in all, a very exciting and not too predictable Wimbledon. Thanks for reading and happy hitting on the courts. Coach Anderson
