Rafa Having a tough Time! 2011 September US OPEN Finals Tennis

Rafael Nadal is not looking good in the final of the 2011 US Open Men's Final. Novak Djokovic [SRB] is looking very good and calm. Rafa is flustered. I was cheering for RaFA. Unfortunately his serve is not quite up to snuff. They are both great players.
The Road to the finals we experienced some great matches. Really hope the level of tennis continues throughout the coming year.

On the womens side, Serena had a tough time of it. Sorry to see the US knocked out. Serena was playing very good until the finals but had a tough time of it once she reached the finals. Stosur looked good and did not commit many errors.

On the mens side, Andy Murray played some inspired tennis but it was streaky. Plus on the mental side he appeared to be flustered. Maybe it was catching. Rafa had the same cold. The Swiss master time piece Federer looked amazing in the first two sets against Novak Djokovic [SRB] but Nole really upped the stakes in last sets.

All in all a great US Open Tennis in New York. One final mention the fashion was the best yet in at The Open. Everyone looked pretty well put together. Nice.

Wimbledon Turning Point!

Novak Djokovic is No. 1.

With his 7-6 (4), 6-2, 6-7 (9), 6-3 victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semifinals of Wimbledon, Novak Djokovic will reach No. 1 for the first time when the new rankings are released on Monday. Djokovic, who is 47-1 this season, takes over from Rafael Nadal, who held the spot for 56 weeks. It was the second time in Nadal's career he reached No. 1.. Nadal is playing some great tennis. Probably not enough to overcome Djokovic. Upsets do happen.

Maria Sharapova, 24, says that she doubts she’ll play until the age of 30. Sharapova, who will play Petra Kvitova in the Wimbledon final on Saturday, says that had she not taken up the sport, she might now be finishing university and pursuing a career in architecture. This is the first final in quite some time. Petra Kvitova is a Lefty. Kvitova is the first left-handed woman to reach the Wimbledon final since Martina Navratilova in 1994. Lefties have some advantages if they use them. Maria will have to be more consistent with her serve to beat Petra. Good Luck Ladies.

Wimbledon is talking about adding a covered roof on Court 1. It will keep play moving and help the business of tennis. Could happen. Really good tennis this year at Wimbledon. Happy Tennis to all! Coach Anderson

Wimbledon 2011.Summer.The 125th Championships!

Serena and Venus are out. They played valiently up to their loss. Unfortunately they were ousted pretty quickly in their respective matches. Maria Sharapova is still in contention. Todays matches will be Sharapova vs. Cibulkova; No. 9 Bartoli vs. wild card Sabine Lisicki (Germany); No. 8 Petra Kvitova (Czech Republic) vs. No. 32 Pironkova; and No. 4 Victoria Azarenka (Belarus) vs. Tamira Paszek (Austria). Ought to be some good tennis.
On the Men's side the men's quarters will be played Wednesday, with Nadal vs. No. 10 Mardy Fish of the United States; Murray vs. unseeded Feliciano Lopez of Spain; Federer vs. No. 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France; and Djokovic vs. 18-year-old Australian qualifier Bernard Tomic, the youngest men's quarterfinalist since Boris Becker in 1986.The top four men are still in contention. But things will change tomorrow.
The Royals were out in full force watching the Tennis at Wimbledon. They were even seen doing the wave. Very un-British like. Fun had by all. Billy Jean King was in attendance watching the festivities with the Royals. Nice. Billy Jean really is and was a force for good for woman all over the world.
Have not commented on Djokovic or Fish but they both have gone on gluten free diets and their health and focus has been noticed by all. I personally have been no sugar and no wheat for a year. Some gluten but definately cut down and am willing to admit my health has improved. Of course Djokovic and Fish's records have also improved. Their must be something more than smoke and mirrors here.
My half day camp starts Monday July 11th in Atlantis, FL. 33462. Email tennis4utoo@gmail.com for more info. Thanks for reading. Coach Anderson

Finals: Rafael Nadal (1) def Novak Djokovic (3) 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-2

Well, after significant Rain delays Rafa has won in 4 sets.
Rafael has downplayed any talk about him being the best player in the world. For both Federer and Nadal it is staying injury free. We hope the best for all the Professional Tennis Players. Thanks for viewing.

Nadal or Djokovic?

Well I have to eat my hat. Federer was beat by Djokovic. Djokovic played very well. The score was close-5-7, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5. Djokovic played better that day. I have said it before and will say it again the best 1000 players and can beat the no. 1 if they are having a bad day. In this case, it was a close contest. Fed was not having a bad day but did not play his absolute best. Congratulations to Mr. Djokovic.

On the Womans side. Ms. Kim Clijsters wins easily. Our own Venus was good. Venus hits the ball very hard but Kim really likes the hard hit balls. Some players feed on this and the result is history for a 2.2 million dollar pay check for Ms.Clijsters against Vera Zvonareva. Nice.

Today Rafa will play Djokovic. Rafael Nadal has won twice as many times against Novak Djokovic. Novak has not beat Mr. Federer that often. It ought to be a really good match. All the best to all the players. All in all a really good Open.

US Open Coming up!

Former champions Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters lead their respective fields in the current US Open tennis odds according to the British betting bookmaker Ladbrokes.com. Serena is not playing due to an injury on her foot.

Roger Federer: The Swiss won his first title in seven months on Sunday. Federer actually looked pretty darn good last week in Cincinnati, where, albeit, he had only played three full matches. But in those matches he looked sharp, moved well and played the kind of tennis that has won him US Opens in the past. Roddick, Fish, Rafa, Solderling, Nalbandian, and Tomas Berdych could all come out to win. Federer is fit. The 5 set format and the pressure is grueling. We will watch closely.

The 5-time champion Federer, who lost in the final last year to Juan Martin Del Potro, is once again the men’s favorite at 9/4. World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is next at 11/4. Nadal has never reached the US Open finals.

At No. 3 in the US Open odds is 2008 finalist Andy Murray at 3/1. Novak Djokovic is the fourth choice at 12/1 while former champion Andy Roddick, Robin Soderling and Tomas Berdych are all tied at 16/1.

Defending champion Clijsters is on top for the women at 10/3. The 2006 winner, Maria Sharapova, is the second pick at 7/2. Top seed and 2009 finalist Caroline Wozniacki and Victoria Azarenka are tied for third at 7/1.

Two-time champion Venus Williams is next at 12/1 followed by 2004 winner Svetlana Kuznetsova (14/1) and then a tie between Elena Dementieva and Vera Zvonareva at 20/1. My prediction is Venus could really come out gunning for the title. Do not count her out in any way.

The US Open main draw begins on Monday, August 30. Both draws will be released on Thursday.
